Rejuvenating Yoga blends Iyengar yoga with Polarity Therapy Energy exercises. Iyengar yoga is a style of Hatha yoga that shows you how to position the various parts of your body with correct alignment and how to use breathing techniques that support active and passive postures. This allows your bones, muscles, organs, nervous system, and mind to function at their best potential. Polarity Therapy energy exercises give us simple postures, sounds, and breathing techniques that quickly balance our physical, emotional, and energetic bodies.

What Can It Do for Me?

Rejuvenating Yoga activates your body’s innate wisdom to release blocked energy physically, mentally, and emotionally. You will notice improvements in flexibility, strength, circulation, respiration, stress reduction, and overall well-being. Rejuvenating yoga also expands your consciousness, offering an opportunity for personal growth.

Reducing Stress Through Breath

Candace Pert, Ph. D. discovered the opiate receptor and many other peptide receptors in the brain and in the body. These discoveries lead to an understanding of the chemicals that travel between the mind and the body.

“What techniques can we use to direct the mind to affect our health? Conscious breathing, the technique employed by both the yogi and the woman in labor, is extremely powerful. There is a wealth of data showing that changes in the rate and depth of breathing produce changes in the quality and kind of peptides that are released from the brain stem. And vice versa. By bringing this process into consciousness and doing something to alter it – either holding your breath or breathing extra fast – you cause the peptides to diffuse rapidly throughout the cerebrospinal fluid in an attempt to restore homeostasis, the body’s feedback mechanism for restoring and maintaining balance.  And since many of these peptides are endorphins, the body’s natural opiates, you soon achieve a diminishing in one’s pain level. So it’s no wonder so many modalities, both ancient and new age, have discovered the power of controlled breathing.”
